Enhancing your Zoom experience
A couple of pointers to make the most of your Zoom yoga experience:
– The larger the screen, the better the view. I’ve found through my own experience that the best way to join a virtual class is to connect using your device and then mirror your screen (or airplay) onto a smart TV. Joining through a laptop or an iPad/tablet is the next best thing.
– You’ll want to “pin” my screen to ensure your view is uninterrupted. You can either double tap me on your phone or tablet, or click the top corner and select “pin video”.
– Music plays an important role in the SELFish Yoga experience, and I put together a new playlist for each sequence I create. The Spotify playlist link is included in your class confirmation email for you to listen at home. Nb – you’ll need to listen through a separate device to the one you join Zoom on.
– Mat positioning will depend on personal preference and your home space. Key thing is to make sure you’re comfortable and have a good view of the screen. Sometimes this varies dependent on the sequence. It may take a couple of attempts to get the positioning right!
– You can join with your camera on or off. Just remember if you choose to turn your camera off I won’t be able to check your alignment. If you do have your camera on, please try and make sure you’re in view where possible so that I can clearly see you and provide tips and cues.
– You’ll be muted on entry, but you are able to unmute yourself at the beginning and end of the class, so please feel free to ask any questions at this time. When my mic is activated I won’t be able to hear anyone so if you need to grab my attention for whatever reason, use the chat function on Zoom.
– All you need to have with you is a yoga mat and yourSELF. If you do have blocks, belts, cushions and blankets then please have these close by for any poses where you may need additional support. I can confirm having a blanket makes Savasana (relaxation to close the class) super cosy and relaxing 😴
